Nonresident Tuition Exemption (AB540)

A new state law is now in effect for the University of California system that may benefit you or someone you know. Under the new law, certain nonresident students are exempt from paying nonresident fees.

To be eligible for this exemption, a student must meet all of the following requirements:

Student must have attended a high school in California for three or more years, and
Students must have graduated from a California high school or attained the equivalent thereof, and
Student is not a nonimmigrant alien (for example, a student holding an F-1 visa.)
