LTIT 130A: DANTE

See description under LTPR 183. Students who want credit in Italain will attend all lectures and the weekly section meeting of LTPR 183. They will read the texts in Italian, and will also attend an informal discussion section in Italian.


LTIT 164

This course will be taught entirely in Italian, with a few supplemental readings in English. Subject of the course is Italy's literature and cinema addressing the fascist experience.

Readings include:

Elio Vittorini, Conversazione in Sicilia

Beppe Fenoglio, Una questione privata

Renata Vigano, Agnese va a morire

Primo Levi, Se questo e un uomo

 

Course requirements include attendance and participation in discussions conducted in Italian, four short papers, and an exam based on historical readings.
