CMPS-112: Comparative Programming Languages Catalog Description: Covers several programming languages and compares styles, philosophy, and design principles. Principles underlying declarative, functional, and object-oriented programming styles are studied. Students write programs emphasizing each of these techniques. Prerequisite: CMPS-104A. Course directory: The syllabus, all handouts, assignments, and other information will be available on the Cats Unix machines in the /afs/cats.ucsc.edu/courses/cmps112-wm/ course directory. At the time of posting this note, the only information in that directory is from 1995. However, the information will be updated prior to the beginning of the quarter. Submitting assignments: All students are required to have a Cats Unix account. All assignments will be submitted electronically. Newsgroup: Students must also subscribe to the ucsc.class.cmps112 newsgroup.
