Course description:

This course is dedicated to provide rigorous, first-hand knowledge on neural development. It emphasizes on comparative studies in both invertebrate and vertebrate nervous systems. Topics include neurogenesis, neuronal fate determination, neuronal migration, axonal guidance and synaptogenesis. One lecture will be given on each topic to introduce the basic concepts and background information, which is followed by one discussion section on chosen research papers. Students will receive one-on-one instruction before giving presentations. Students are expected to participate actively in lectures and discussions. Term paper--an essay on a selected topic.
Enrollment is limited. Undergraduate enroll by interview only.
