Stevenson 1C-The Global Security Colloquium

The Stevenson Colloquium is a weekly lecture series that, each quarter, focuses on a different general topic. The topic for Spring 1998 is "The Clash of Civilizations: Fact or Fiction?" All lectures are open to the public. One unit of course credit is offered to enrolled students.

Course requirements:
  • Students enrolled in the course must attend at least 7 Monday colloquia, and must submit a total of 8 papers during the quarter. Other talks, lectures and seminars may fulfill a portion of this written requirement; they will be announced in class
  • The papers should be no longer than 1-1/2 pages (375 words). They may be a summary of the colloquium or a thoughtful critique of one or more ideas presented in the colloquium
  • Papers are due Monday following each presentation, and they must be typed.
