Introductory Physics III Laboratory (Take-Home Section)
Instructor:
Fred Kuttner
Course
Description:
A
knowledge of basic practical electronics is of tremendous use to anyone
contemplating working in the sciences or anyone who wants to know a little
about what is going on inside his/her radio, TV, computer, cell phone,
PDA, etc., etc.
Get
a head start on this knowledge with a take home lab section of Physics
6N to accompany Physics 6C. Working in pairs, you will build simple electronic
equipment on your own time (the time that you would have been in lab)
to demonstrate the basic laws of electricity and magnetismfrom electric
and magnetic forces through duplicating the classic Hertz experiment on
the generation and detection of electromagnetic radiation.
All
required equipment, parts, and tools will be provided.
So
sign up for Physics 6N, and be prepared for a great experience!
