This course will introduce
and explore the celebration of el Dia de los muertos (the Day of the
Dead), an exploration of art created to celebrate death in Mexico. We will look
at the Chicanos' and the Americans' view on death and share our own experiences.
This class will culminate in the creation of a Day of the Dead ceremony and
community altar including student's individual art piece.
