Q: How do I apply for graduation?

Q: Where can I find the graduation application deadline?
A: Page 2 of the Academic and Administrative Calendar under the heading "Announcing Candidacy for Degree/Apply to Graduate" (http://reg.ucsc.edu/calendar/calendar_two_pages.pdf).


Q: I applied for graduation but need to apply for a different term. How do I change my application for graduation?
A: If you need to reschedule your graduation application, download the pdf form at Apply/Reapply to Graduate.

Q: How do I sign up to participate in a commencement ceremony?
A: Contact your college office. Contact information is available at http://advising.ucsc.edu/student/candidacy.html.
Q: I have graduated and need to show proof of my degree.
A: You may order an official transcript at http://reg.ucsc.edu/students/ordering.htm. The Office of the Registrar can verify the degree awarded over the phone. Please have potential employers or institutions call (831) 459-4412.
Q: I applied to graduate and need to show proof that I will receive my degree.
A: You can order an official "Certificate of Completion" at the Office of the Registrar that states you will receive your degree. All requirements must be met.
Q: When should I expect to receive my diploma?
A: Diplomas are mailed to the permanent address between four and five months after the quarter in which you graduated. Permanent address may be updated on MyUCSC.
Q: My diploma is missing/destroyed. How can I get a replacement?
A: There is only one original diploma. To request a replacement diploma, notating the replacement, write a letter to the Office of the Registrar (see address below).

In the letter, explain what happened to the original diploma and provide the following: name, student ID number, birth date, degree information (major(s), College, dates of attendance, date degree conferred), and a $22 check made payable to "UC Regents." Be sure to sign your letter. Replacement diplomas can take anywhere from one to two months.
