Undergraduate Admission

Graduation Rates

The following graduation-rate information is listed in compliance with the 1990 Title I: Federal Right-to-Know Act, Section 103. Forty-eight percent of the students who entered as freshmen in 2000 graduated within four years; 66 percent of those who entered in 1999 graduated within five years; and 69 percent of those who entered in 1998 graduated within six years. In recent years, students who entered as freshmen took an average of four and one-half years to graduate, and students transferring to UCSC as juniors averaged two and one-half years. These graduation rates are well above the national averages.

In accord with the Education Amendments of 1976, Section 493A, more detailed information regarding retention is available from the Office of Planning and Budget, University of California, Santa Cruz, 1156 High Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95064.

Application Fees/Waivers

The application fee is $60 to apply to one campus of the university and $70 for international nonimmigrant applicants. For each additional campus you select, you must pay an extra $60 fee. These fees are subject to change and are not refundable. A check or money order made payable to the Regents of the University of California should be included with the application form.

Students who qualify for fee waivers and who select more than four campuses must pay $60 for each additional choice.
